Tycho Sneyers seeking a third term on the UN PRI board

21 September 2023

Tycho Sneyers, Managing Partner and Chairman of the ESG Committee at LGT Capital Partners, is standing for re-election to the board of the United Nations Principles for Responsible Investment (UN PRI). He has served as board member for the past six years as one of the two investment manager representatives, having actively shaped the work of numerous committees.

During his tenure, Tycho has overseen measures to guide PRI signatories towards more outcome-oriented investing and facilitated input from the private equity community on reporting standards, among other things. If elected to another term, Tycho will continue to advocate a third PRI board seat for investment managers. He will also address how the PRI can help signatories better define their ambitions around responsible investing and ESG integration, as well as how they can progress towards achieving those goals.

Voting open to PRI signatories
From 20 September to 1 December 2023, investment manager signatories can vote for their representative on the PRI board from the seven candidates standing for election. 130 signatories second Tycho’s candidacy.

Tycho has joined LGT Capital Partners in 2001 and has initiated its ESG efforts since 2002, having steered the firm in deeply embedding ESG principles into the investment processes for all asset classes. Prior to joining LGT Capital Partners, Tycho has co-founded Altgate Capital and worked at Goldman Sachs and Andersen Consulting (now Accenture). He holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and an MA in Economics from the University of Antwerp.

Tycho commented: “It would be an honor and a privilege to serve a third term on the PRI board. The PRI has grown tremendously over the years and has firmly established itself as the world's leading proponent of responsible investing. In a rapidly changing environment for ESG integration, the PRI now needs to adjust its value proposition to the signatories. I would be very excited to continue my work as a PRI board member during this next stage of development.”

PRI has more than 5,000 signatories
The PRI is a global membership organization that has grown significantly since it was founded in 2006 by a small group of investors in partnership with the UN Global Compact and UNEP Finance Initiative. Today, there are more than 5,000 signatories in over 80 countries. Following a period of rapid growth, the aim of the current phase of development is to strengthen value across the diverse and global membership base, operate at scale, deepen understanding of the signatories, transform digital reach, develop organizational capabilities, and build a truly global organization.
